It is also Golf Day.

The exact history of golf is unknown, however in a French prayer book dated around 1460, there is an illustration of a game which resembles golf.

The modern game of golf reached Scotland in the 17th century, and spread worldwide from there. The first golf course opened in New York in 1889.

Golf is a sport which players use different types of clubs (woods, irons and putters). The aim is to hit your ball into each hole on the golf course (typically there are 9 or 18 holes) and try and do it using the lowest possible number of strokes.
